Jennifer Garner held back tears as she emotionally revealed to MSNBC that her friend ‘did not get out in time’ during the LA wildfires.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate their homes as fires rage throughout the city, causing mass destruction to the Hollywood Hills and Pacific Palisades neighbourhood.
Thousands of homes have been destroyed including many owned by celebrities, and 11 people have died during this natural disaster.
The Daredevil actress, 52, was lending support to World Central Kitchen (WCK) a not-for-profit organisation that provides food relief, when she was caught by MSNBC for a quick interview with Katy Tur.
In the news segment discussing the destruction caused by the blaze, Jennifer joined Chef Jose Andres and revealed that her friend was one of the 11 people to die.
‘I did lose a friend. And for our church, it’s really tender. So, I don’t feel like I should talk about her yet.
She added: ‘But yeah, I did lose a friend who did not get out on time.’

Katy Tur asked the actress, ‘And this is intensely personal for you, you just mentioned that it’s your neighbourhood and you’ve lived here for a long time.’
The actress held back tears as she revealed how personal the destruction was to her personally. ‘My heart bleeds for my friends, I can think of 100 families – and there are 5,000 homes lost- without even thinking, I can write out a list of a hundred friends that lost their homes.’
The 13 Going On 30 star then added that she was even experiencing a sense of survivor’s guilt as her house was not destroyed.
‘I feel almost guilty walking through my house just, you know, what can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What do I have to offer with these hands and these walls and the safety that I have?’
Jennifer is just one of the celebrities aiding those affected by the LA fires.
Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, actor and director Christopher Guest, have since pledged to donate $1million (£819k) to relief.
She vowed to help ‘our great city and state and the great people who live there’ however possible.
Halle Berry and Sharon Stone have donated most of their wardrobe and rallied followers to donate clothes to those who have had their possessions destroyed.
As confirmed by People, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have offered shelter to people forced to evacuate.
