Amazon Prime Video has added one of the greatest films of all time, which has been hailed a ‘masterpiece’ by viewers, to its library.
Subscribers can now watch Steven Spielberg’s 1993 historical drama film Schindler’s List for free on the global streaming platform.
The movie is based on the true story of Oskar Schindler, played by Liam Neeson, a German industrialist who saved thousands of Jewish people from the Holocaust by employing them in his factories during the Second World War.
After its release, Schindler’s List won seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, and bagged numerous other awards, including seven Baftas and three Golden Globes.
In 2004, the movie was deemed ‘culturally, historically or aesthetically significant’ by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry.
Three years later, the American Film Institute ranked Schindler’s List 8th on its list of the 100 greatest American films.

On Reddit, viewers have continued to recommend the classic, which has a near-perfect score of 98% on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Among them is WillieMaysHayes, who said: ‘Spielberg at his peak doing his best directing job. Working with by far the best, most serious and meaty script he’s ever had. Production Design that puts you in the era. Black and white cinematography that makes every frame gorgeous to look at. Acting performances that make every major and minor character feel like living breathing people. It’s up there for the best-made movie ever.
‘The harrowing subject matter is obviously hard to watch, but it’s so well done that it demands your attention. Impossible to take one’s eyes off of. It leaves you with a pit in your stomach and mouth hanging like it should. ‘
Echoing their sentiment, SanDiablo shared: ‘I watch it every few years. It’s a damn near perfect film and I’m riveted every moment, not an ounce of fat. One of the few masterpieces in cinema. It’s most likely my most favorite movie of all time.’

FatherPascal also added: ‘Brutal movie, but I went in expecting it be sad and that be that, instead, this was one of the most brilliant and masterful “films” ever. So good from start to finish, an absolute masterpiece.’
Schindler’s List also starred acting greats Ralph Fiennes and Ben Kingsley.
Earlier this month, Amazon Prime added what viewers declared ‘one of the greatest British films ever made.’
They have now been re-watching the 2000 movie Snatch from Guy Ritchie.
The blockbuster follows the criminal goings-on in London’s underworld – including the hunt for a missing diamond, and the fixing of various boxing matches.

Jason Statham led the star-studded cast as Turkish, beside Stephen Graham, Benicio del Toro, Mike Reid, Vinnie Jones, Lennie James, and a scene-stealing turn from Brad Pitt.
Despite being released more than two decades ago, it has remained an absolute favourite of film fans all over the world – and sparked a spin-off series with Luke Pasqualino, Rupert Grint, Lucien Laviscount and Phoebe Dynevor.
On Rotten Tomatoes, David B wrote: ‘One of the greatest British films made. Actors, script, direction .. everything SPOT ON. It’s worth watching more than once, which I very, VERY rarely say. Well done, Guy Ritchie!’
Midwest G agreed: ‘Guy Richie’s absolute best work. This is the platonic ideal of the genre that many movies have attempted to recreate but have not surpassed.’
Schindler’s List is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
