Not that it’s difficult to understand why two celebrities who just started dating would want to keep it quiet. Fans often get attached to certain couplings, and if you’ve only been on a couple of dates, you probably don’t want the world jumping to conclusions. However, we become skeptical when business meetups begin crossing months, such as with Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas.
The Two Have Been Spotted Together Three Times in Two Months
Cruise and de Armas were seen landing Cruise’s helicopter at a London airport on April 13, according to People. The two had taken a ride to Madrid, Spain, and the Ballerina actress’s dogs were with her. De Armas was wearing blue jeans and a leather jacket, carrying her dog, Elvis, while holding her other dog, Salsa, by a leash. The Mission: Impossible actor was wearing a blue peacoat and carrying a black backpack.
The sighting comes a month after their last outing, where they were also seen landing at the London Heliport. However, the pair weren’t alone; director Doug Liman, with whom Cruise worked on Edge of Tomorrow and American Made, was with them.
De Armas and Cruise were first seen together on February 13, leaving a restaurant together. Before taking their takeout and hopping in a taxi, they chatted with fans and took photos. However, a source shot down any romantic chatter and told People they were just friends “discussing potential collaborations down the line.”
Cruise Has Spoken About a Film He and Liman Are Working On
While the two may be secretly dating, Doug Liman’s presence at their second meeting suggests otherwise. Liman and Cruise have been planning a space film for years, which de Armas could have a part in. In 2020, NASA director Jim Bridenstine confirmed in a tweet that Cruise would film on the International Space Station, and he had NASA’s full cooperation.
“NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station! We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASAâs ambitious plans a reality,” he wrote.
Three years later, Cruise told Variety, âWeâve been working on it diligently, and weâll see where we go.â Liman also spoke about the film in 2024. âIt is something we still talk about, for sure,â Liman told The Hollywood Reporter. âThereâs a reason we havenât gone to space yet, and when we finally do and the movie comes out, I know Iâll look back at it and be like, âThank God it didnât happen earlier.ââ
And then, there’s Deeper. Liman told Showbiz411 that he and Cruise plan to make a “scary” supernatural thriller. âI have never done one,â he said, âand neither has Tom Cruise.â Deadline’s synopsis says, “Deeper follows an astronaut who encounters a terrifying force while on a deep dive into a never-before-explored trench.”
Will we see de Armas join Cruise at the International Space Station or in a terrifying deep-sea thriller? Time will tell if it’s one of these — or a third option we don’t yet know about.
