Film on the Rocks is returning for its 26th year with fan-favorite movies that mix nostalgia, critical acclaim and out-of-this-world entertainment.
The season begins Monday, June 9, with the all-time sci-fi classic “2001: A Space Odyssey,” and ends Monday, Aug. 18, with the 2004 animated title “Shrek 2,” according to producer Denver Film (see the full list below).
The movie series, programmed by the nonprofit that runs the Denver Film Festival, will again feature five films, with $25 tickets per screening (up $5 from last year) and $50 for VIP reserved seating near the front of the amphitheater.
Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, via denverfilm.org.
Gates open at 6:30 p.m., with pre-show entertainment taking the stage at 7 p.m., followed by the film presentation at 8 p.m., Denver Film said. Each show will be emceed by local comedian, actor, and years-long host Janae Burris.
“Pre-show entertainment includes a Comedy Works comedian and musical performances by Big Dopes, The Martini Shot, School of Rock, blankslate, and Shrek Rave,” Denver Film said.
