The Food Standards Agency has warned ASDA customers not to eat a popular sandwich filler after it was packaged with the wrong use-by date.

ASDA is recalling its Hot & Spicy Chicken Breast Slices packaged with the use-by date of May 30, 2025.

While the supermarket is recalling the product as a precaution, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised anyone who has bought the chicken not to eat it.

An ASDA recall notice says: ‘If you have purchased ASDA Hot and Spicy chicken breast slices with a use-by date of May 30, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.

‘You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.’

In its advice to customers the FSA said: ‘If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to your nearest store for a refund.
