Lukas Gage Reveals the Person He Is Loving After His Divorce

Lukas Gage’s first marriage lasted seven months before his husband, Chris Appleton, filed for divorce in November 2023. Their divorce was finalized in June 2024. It has been almost a year, and although Appleton was once Gage’s great love, these days, he is prioritising someone else: himself.

“You got to love yourself fully before you can be ready to jump in anything,” he told People on May 14. He also discussed how his work on the new Prime Video series “Overcompensating” reflected this, saying, “I’m doing a lot of me work and I think that’s what the show is a little about. Overcompensating is if you’re trying too hard to be something that you’re not and trying to fit into these molds, you got to just start with yourself and you got to be authentic to yourself. So I’m doing Lukas love time.”

The “White Lotus” actor also discussed how he prioritizes self-care and what this involves. “I just sit with myself and be quiet for hours, and that’s my spiritual practice,” he said. In addition to meditation, he also journals and goes to the spa.

In April 2024, Gage posted several photos on Instagram showing fans another love in his life: his new pet, a German Shepherd named Bo. In the caption, he informed his followers that he had initially planned to foster the dog named Boris, or Bo for short, but the foster failed, and he “fell in love.” In his post, he also encouraged people not to purchase pets but to adopt those needing a home.

Gage has been honest about his feelings post-split. He and Appleton were married in Las Vegas on April 22, 2023, and Kim Kardashian officiated the ceremony. At the time, they had been dating for two months. During a “What What Happens Live” appearance in March 2024, host Andy Cohen told Gage he was “surprised” to learn he had gotten married so quickly.

“I had a manic episode for six months. Those furry jackets…” Gage said. “The fur coats were a horrible idea.” He references the matching black fur coats he and Appleton wore when they married (they also wore matching black leather pants). “I don’t know literally what went through my head,” the actor said. But he found a silver lining, adding, “We live and we learn.”
