A plane crashed and caught fire Saturday morning in a field north of Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, firefighters say.
North Metro Fire Rescue District wrote in a social media post at 10:24 a.m. that its members had extinguished the blaze at the crash site northeast of Midway Boulevard and Brainard Drive.
The agency did not state how many people were in the plane or hurt in the crash but said the National Transportation Safety Board had been notified.
