Drew Barrymore gushed about longtime friend and frequent co-star Adam Sandler’s daughters during a recent episode of her daytime talk show.
While speaking with comedian Mindy Kaling on Tuesday, Barrymore revealed how Sandler’s teenage daughters Sunny, 16, and Sadie, 19, have embraced her younger children.
She described the two as being “so good” to her daughters.
âI feel like itâs a really good sign of a good soul and good parenting when older kids are not dismissive of younger kids,” Barrymore told Kaling.
Barrymore shares two daughters with her ex-husband Will Kopelman. The two divorced in 2016.
Barrymore Says the Kids Hang out
The “Charlie’s Angels” actress added that despite the age gap her young children hang out with Sandler’s daughters.
âOlive and Frankie are 10 and 12, and they like hang out,” Barrymore continued. “I always tell Jackie â Adamâs wife â what a good mom that she is and what good parents they are because their daughters always take younger ones under their wing.â
In November 2024, Barrymore mentioned on her show how her daughter watched a film with one of Sandler’s daughters.
“My daughter and Adam’s daughter were watching [50 First Dates] at my house the other night,â she said. âI was like, ‘Why are you guys watching this? Don’t you get enough of me and your dad?’”Â
“And they were just so happy, and I was like, ‘Oh, but this is so sweet and wonderful,’” she added.
Barrymore Wants to Make Another Film With Sandler: ‘We’re Running out of Time’
The two have already collaborated on a trio of film â “The Wedding Singer,” “50 First Dates,” and “Blended” â but Barrymore plans on making another film with Sandler at some point, according to an April episode of show.
An audience member asked if she thought their would be an onscreen reunion.
“That’s a yes,” Barrymore said. “And it’s a matter of when, but I don’t think it’ll be too long because we’ve always done something every 10 years.”
However, she jokingly added the clock is ticking. “We’re running out of time; we’re past 10 years at this point,” Barrymore said.
The 50-year-old said the two have been on the lookout for their next project.
“We’re constantly seeing each other and hanging out, so I think it’s always a matter of, ‘What is it?’ So we’re on the search for it because we’re happy when we’re together,” she elaborated.
