Miley Cyrus has said she spent Thanksgiving in intensive care after a ‘brutal’ infection on her knee resulted in the joint beginning to ‘disintegrate’.
The 32-year-old star said she believes it was after rolling around on the ground of the Hollywood Walk of Fame to record a music film that she caught the infection.
The former Hannah Montana star filmed the scenes on the iconic Los Angeles hotspot in October last year, as part of her new film Something Beautiful.
‘By November, at Thanksgiving, I was put in ICU, for a moment, just for a moment,’ she said during an appearance on US chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live!
‘But it’s mostly because it was Thanksgiving. There was a lot of people in the ER, people choking on turkey legs or whatever.’
She continued: ‘My leg began to disintegrate within some way around the kneecap area.

‘The doctor goes, ‘You have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?’
‘And I just saw myself,’ she said, mimicking the dance from the video. ‘I had to tell him. And to have a surgeon look at you and say, ‘Yuck’… They open up like cadavers, like they see inside the guts of humans, and they’re looking at me, telling me I’m disgusting.’
Host Kimmel went on to ask if the spot she filmed at had been steamed prior to shooting, to which Cyrus said: ‘Absolutely not, none of that.
‘Because, you know, with this movie, I had a big dream and a small budget. Well, I had a pretty good budget, but I spent it all on my clothes.

‘Then when it came time to go to the Walk of Fame, they’re like, ‘So what are you going to do? Are you going to rent this thing or what, because that’s really out of your price range’. I was like, ‘No, we’ll just go in the middle of the night’.
‘Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night? I thought it was my last day.’
The new film is set to be released in tandem with Cyrus’s ninth album of the same name on May 30, which includes a song titled Walk of Fame featuring fellow musician Brittany Howard.
