Wienerschnitzel plans to embed restaurants in Walmart stores, beginning with six in western states.
The only one in California is in Bakersfield. The retailer has multiple locations in this area of nearly 1 million people, and Wienerschnitzel’s news release didn’t say which store would have its chili dogs.

The other cities are Tempe, Ariz.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Alamogordo, N.M.; Reno, Nev.; and Puyallup, Wash. The restaurants will open by fall, the news release said.
Walmarts were once known for having in-store McDonald’s restaurants, but most of those eateries have closed in recent years, according to reporting by the Wall Street Journal and Business Insider.
The in-store restaurants will be franchises and feature Wienerschnitzel’s full menu.
Current promotions include four chili dogs for $4 at participating locations in June.
