BERKELEY
The Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (Berkeley Humane) is throwing a double celebration this Saturday and you’re invited! For one incredible day, the community can change a life (or two!) by adopting a pet and raising a glass at the award-winning Pints for Paws craft beer festival — all happening in one location in West Berkeley.
From 2 to 5 p.m. (with VIP entry at 1 p.m.), the Pints for Paws event will take over Berkeley Humane’s location with more than 50 booths serving beer, wine, cider, vodka, mead and more, all with unlimited tastings from dozens of local craft breweries, wineries, cideries, and alternative beverage makers. All proceeds support Berkeley Humane’s lifesaving programs.
This powerful combination is part of the second annual California Pet Adoption Day and the 11th annual Pints for Paws, which has been voted the Best Fundraising Event in the East Bay for five consecutive years. The event offers an unbeatable opportunity to meet adoptable animals, enjoy unlimited tastings from local breweries, and support lifesaving work in your community.
“If you have been thinking about adding another pet to your family, this Saturday is your day,” said Jeffrey Zerwekh, Berkeley Humane’s executive director. “If you want to spend quality time with family and friends, and about 300 dogs, while raising funds to save the lives of shelter animals, this Saturday is your day, and Pints for Paws is for you!”
Starting at 11 a.m., adoption fees will be waived entirely for more than 40 dogs and cats of all ages, including puppies, some of which have just flown in from Hawaii, and dozens of adorable kittens. Every pet is fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped and ready to go home the same day.
Adoption packages include more than $250 in veterinary care, 30 days of complimentary pet insurance, training discounts and additional benefits. This event is family-friendly and full of furry friends and community spirit. Berkeley Humane is at 2700 Ninth St. in Berkeley. The event sells out every year, so for tickets and other details online, visit berkeleyhumane.org/events/pints-for-paws.
