<p id=”par-1_11″>Details are trickling in about CBS’s highly anticipated <a href=”http://cheatsheet.com/tag/blue-bloods”><em>Blue Bloods</em></a><em> </em>spinoff. </p>
<p id=”par-2_52″>Earlier this year, the network confirmed that it was moving forward with a new show focused on <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/donnie-wahlberg-emotional-goodbye-blue-bloods.html/”>Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan character</a>. The series will follow the NYPD detective as he takes a new job in Boston. It will premiere this fall, airing in <em>Blue Bloods’ </em>old Friday at 10 p.m. timeslot. </p>

<p id=”par-3_36″>Of course, Danny’s move to Boston means he’ll be getting a new partner. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/star-trek-discovery-star-sonequa-martin-green-has-2-big-hopes-for-michael-burnham-in-season-3.html/”><em>Star Trek: Discovery </em>alum Sonequa Martin-Green</a> will play Boston PD officer Lena Silver. Like Danny, she comes from a prominent law enforcement family. </p>
<p id=”par-4_49″>Also joining the cast ifs <em>Psych</em>‘s Maggie Lawson. She plays Sarah Silver, Lena’s stepsister and a Boston PD superintendent. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/ghostbusters-star-ernie-hudson-turned-down-voice-winston-despite-playing-original-movie.html/”><em>Ghostbusters </em>star Ernie Hudson</a> plays Reverend Peters, the patriarch of the blended Peters family, which also includes Boston DA Mae Silver and rookie patrol cop Isaac Silver, according to <a href=”https://deadline.com/2025/06/maggie-lawson-boston-blue-cbs-blue-bloods-spinoff-1236420822/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Deadline</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-5_15″>While the new show is set in Boston, filming <a href=”https://productionlist.com/production-ramps-up-on-cbs-spin-offs-boston-blue-2/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>will reportedly</a> take place in Toronto.</p>

<p id=”par-6_38″>Last month, Wahlberg teased the new show during an interview with <a href=”https://youtu.be/6TIPE3ua16A?feature=shared” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Extra</a>, saying that he hopes it will appeal to loyal <em>Blue Bloods </em>fans who’ve been missing the show since it wrapped its 14-season run in late 2024. </p>
<p id=”par-7_56″>“I think it’s an incredible opportunity,” the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/jonathan-knight-of-farmhouse-fixer-says-he-hates-this-design-trend.html/”>New Kids on the Block member</a> said. “I love the Reagan family. Viewers love the Reagan family. And it went away. And here’s an opportunity to bring it back, to carry on those traditions … I think the audience will get what we’re doing when they see the show.” </p>
<p id=”par-8_14″>Martin-Green said she was thrilled to be working with Wahlberg on the new series. </p>
<p id=”par-9_58″>“Listen, he and everyone there at <em>Blue Bloods, </em>in front of and behind the camera, they built something that lasts,” she said. “Not only has it already lasted, I think it’s going to continue to last. And that’s because I think family was at the center of it … it’s a big deal to come into this legacy.” </p>
<p id=”par-10_36″>“I think it’s going to provide something that people need,” she added. “I think it’s going to be optimism and hope and family. And I think it’s going to be good for people. I really do.” </p>
<p id=”par-11_63″>Could some of Danny’s nearest and dearest make the drive up to Boston to visit their relative? Wahlberg played coy when asked if any other <em>Blue Bloods </em>stars will appear on <em>Boston Blue, </em>on which he is also an executive producer<em>. </em>But he did say that there would be “updates” on what’s happened to the Reagan family since the <em>Blue Bloods </em>series finale. </p>
<p id=”par-12_15″>“I know what the fans want,” he added. “And I will not let them down.” </p>
<p id=”par-13_8″><em>Boston Blue </em>premieres in fall 2025 on CBS. </p>
