<p id=”par-1_30″>Brynn Whitfield is handing over her apple. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city/”><em>The Real Housewives of New York City</em></a><em> </em>cast member will not return for <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rhony-fans-blame-1-specific-housewife-end-franchise.html/”>another season of the Bravo show</a>, she announced on Monday. </p>
<p id=”par-2_46″>“After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to walk away from reality TV. For now,” Whitfield shared in the June 9 post on her <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/brynn_whitfield/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a> Story. Instead, she’ll be focusing on Hoppy, the dating app she co-founded and which “hit a massive download milestone” last week. </p>

<p id=”par-3_64″>“<em>The Real Housewives of New York City</em> will always be one of the most fun, chaotic, and magical chapters of my life,” Whitfield said in her statement. “It was an honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise. From day one, I’ve believed <em>RHONY </em>is a fan’s show — we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_55″>Whitfield became part of the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rhony-reboot-luann-de-lesseps-wishes-the-new-cast-luck-because-were-a-hard-group-to-follow.html/”><em>RHONY </em>cast in 2023</a>. The marketing and communications professional joined <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/real-housewives-of-new-york-newbie-jenna-lyons-once-known-woman-who-dresses-america.html/”>Jenna Lyons</a>, Ubah Hassan, Jessel Taank, Erin Lichy, and Sai de Silva for the 14th season of the reality show, which focused on an all-new group of New York City women. She returned for season 15, which premiered in 2024.</p>
<p id=”par-5_39″>“I hope I made you laugh (a lot), cry (a little), and more than anything — I hope there’s a TV in heaven so that Mimi (who LIVED for her shows) could watch me and be proud,” Whitfield added. </p>
<p id=”par-6_38″>Whitfield’s <em>RHONY</em> departure comes amid rumors that Bravo is considering canceling the show amid declining ratings. Producer <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/rhony-not-canceled-casting-heavily-underway-new-season-andy-cohen.html/”>Andy Cohen has denied cancellation rumors</a> but has said that cast changes are in the works for a potential season 16. </p>

<p id=”par-7_70″>Whitfield’s <em>RHONY </em>exit isn’t surprising given her rocky second season on the show. She had an ongoing feud with Hassan, which exploded during the season finale, when Hassan called Whitfield a “whore” and accused her of sleeping her way into her job. The fight left Whitfield visibly upset, and for good reason. She’d experienced sexual assault in the past, she told her fellow cast members, and Hassan knew about it. </p>
<p id=”par-8_73″>However, Hassan insisted that Whitfield had never opened up to her about her past, and that she never would have said the things she did if she knew what Whitfield was going through. Eventually, Whitfield admitted that she wasn’t sure Hassan had heard her when she briefly recounted her sexual assault. The uncomfortable encounter ended with producers separating the two women and Whitfield heading home early from the group trip to Puerto Rico. </p>
<p id=”par-9_33″>While Whitfield is leaving Bravo, she’ll definitely be staying busy. In addition to working on Hoppy, she’s focused on her podcast, <em>Please See Below, </em>and has a book coming out later in 2025. </p>
<p id=”par-10_12″>In her post, she thanked Bravo viewers for giving her a chance. </p>
