Marvel Resurrects Classic Hero in Upcoming Comics

Marvel Iron Fist September

For most, turning 34 just means a bit of joint pain and forgetting your passwords. But for Danny Rand, it meant getting straight-up murdered. But the joke’s on death because Marvel’s bringing him back as “The Undead Iron Fist,” and yep, he looks gnarly in the best way. Launching this September, the four-issue miniseries is written by Jason Loo (“Werewolf by Night: Red Band”) with art by Fran Galán (“Carnage”), and it picks up after Danny’s shocking exit in “Iron Fist 50th Anniversary Special #1.”

Spoiler Alert: K’un-Lun’s favorite golden boy isn’t staying six feet under.

Punch First, Ask Ghostly Questions Later

So here’s where things get spicy: Danny didn’t just die… he was taken out by a Ch’i-Lin-possessed Razor Fist on his birthday. Happy freakin’ birthday, right? But that’s not even the wildest part. Turns out, every Iron Fist is cursed to die at the ripe “old” age of 33. Real cheerful prophecy, that one. Now undead and understandably ticked off, Danny’s back to smash skulls, unearth ancient secrets, and maybe demand some receipts from the powers that be.

Jason Loo teased that this was always part of the plan saying, “Not only was I busy plotting his next explosive chapter, Danny has been going through his own journey to find his way back into the 616 land of the living,” per ComicBookMovie. Translation: if you’ve missed Danny’s signature blend of fists and philosophy, this series is about to overdeliver.

Zombie Chic Has Entered the Chat

Let’s talk about the look. Danny’s got skeletal arms, rotting muscle, and a still-glowing Iron Fist; like if your favorite monk-warrior took a wrong turn into a gothic horror. It’s bold. It’s creepy. It works. Fran Galán’s art leans hard into the eerie details, giving us a hero who looks as dangerous as the death he just kicked in the teeth.

The press release says it all:

“THE IRON FIST RISES! … Danny Rand was killed… but can you truly kill an IMMORTAL IRON FIST?”

Honestly? This might be the most interesting Danny’s been in years. He’s still got that chi-powered punch, but now he’s bringing graveyard grit and a whole lot of unfinished business.

Whether you’re here for the lore, the chaos, or just Danny’s undead glow-up, “The Undead Iron Fist” is shaping up to be a must-read. Death couldn’t stop him. This fall, we wouldn’t miss his comeback for anything.
