A man was shot by police Sunday night in Fort Collins after he refused to drop a knife, according to the police department.
Fort Collins officers responded to an argument at a home in the 700 block of Eastdale Drive at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the police department.
One man was armed with a knife, police said in the release. Officers ordered him to drop the weapon and used less lethal tools, but the man “refused to cooperate.”
That’s when a Fort Collins officer shot the man, police said.
Police did not specify which less lethal tools were used.
Paramedics took the unidentified man to the hospital with unknown injuries. An update on his condition was not available Monday morning.
The Eighth Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team will investigate the shooting and the officer’s use of force.
