Jennifer Garner Shares Never-Before-Seen Photo of Ben Affleck In Honor of Father’s Day

Jennifer Garner gave her followers a glimpse of Ben Affleck in dad mode with an adorable throwback pic on Father’s Day. Garner posted the photo to her Instagram story which featured Affleck with one the couple’s children as a baby sleeping on his chest. “Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot,” Garner wrote in her sweet tribute to her ex.

Garner and Affleck welcomed three children together during their marriage, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13. The couple worked hard to keep their children out of the public eye and protect them from the paparazzi. 

Affleck, whose own paparazzi pics have been fodder for gossip and memes, has said he doesn’t really care about the public’s perception of him. “The only biography that means anything is written on the hearts of your kids,” he shared with “Good Morning America.”

Garner and Affleck were married in 2005 and their divorce was finalized in 2018. Prior to marrying Garner, Affleck was linked to Jennifer Lopez and the pair rekindled their romance in 2021, tied the knot in 2022, and separated again in 2024. But throughout that tumultuous union, Affleck and Garner amicably co-parented their children together. 

“…I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well,” the actor shared in a 2025 interview with GQ. 

Garner has also shared kind words about Affleck as a parent, telling InStyle in 2007, “Violet prefers him to anyone. He’s a teddy bear of a guy. Nothing makes me happier than to see the two of them together…”

Will Garner and Affleck Ever Get Back Together?

In June of 2025, Affleck is a single man and Garner is happily dating businessman John Miller. However, the former couple remains very close, and People reported that Affleck was “extra giddy lately … and much more affectionate” with Garner. Page Six reported that a source said Affleck “would be open to giving things another shot” with his ex. 

We know Affleck is a fan of second chances, given his history with J. Lo, but it appears that he and Garner will likely remain just close pals. Garner and Miller have been going strong since 2018, and Affleck is focused on his career and his family following his second divorce. “Ben and Jennifer are friends, and they have a great co-parenting relationship,” a source told Us Weekly, and it seems to be as simple as that.
