Jason Momoa’s son, who he shares with ex-wife Lisa Bonet, has been cast in “Dune 3” according to Deadline. Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, 16, is set to play Leto II, the son of Paul Atreides and Chani, played by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, respectively. Ida Brooke of the Apple TV+ series “Silo” has been cast as Leto II’s twin, Ghanima.

Jason Momoa will likely return for “Dune 3,” reprising his role as Duncan Idaho, a resurrected ghola. The film will mark the acting debut of Nakoa-Wolf, which is no small feat considering the wild success of the first two films in the “Dune” franchise.

All About Jason Momoa’s Talented Family

Momoa and Bonet met in 2005 and started a family, welcoming their daughter, Lola Iolani, in 2007 and Nakoa-Wolf the following year. Bonet, who starred as Denise Huxtable on “The Cosby Show” from 1984 until 1992, was previously married to Grammy-winning rock star Lenny Kravitz with whom she shares a daughter, actor Zoë Kravitz.

Momoa and Bonet were married in 2017 but announced their separation in 2022. Their divorce was finalized in 2024, but the entire blended family has stayed close. Momoa and Lenny Kravitz developed a deep friendship over the years, and Kravitz told People in 2024, “We’re family, we will be family.”

Thanks to his roles in “Game of Thrones,” “Aquaman,” “Dune,” and “A Minecraft Movie,” Momoa’s star has risen over the past decade and continues to shine. Which is all the more notable considering Momoa initially had a different goal in mind. “Everyone thought I was crazy, but I wanted to write, direct, and produce movies,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I didn’t want to act.”

What Has Jason Momoa Said About His Kids?

In 2023, Momoa opened up about his two children on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” telling the host, “My daughter loves dancing, they both rock climb, so I’ve taught them both how to rock climb…my son is really big into martial arts…” He also described doing normal dad stuff with his kids, including teaching them how to drive and letting them teach him about TikTok.

During a red carpet interview with E! for the film “Slumberland,” Momoa was asked what he was most thankful for, and he answered, “My family, my children,” adding, “My daughter, my love. And my son who’s a wild animal.”

The actor didn’t mention whether Lola or Nakoa-Wolf had acting aspirations at the time, but clearly his son had the chops to land such an impressive role so early in his career.
