OAKLAND — A Grand Lake district convenience store that has been robbed more than a half-dozen times in the last few months, including three times in one day last week, was robbed again Thursday night and two juveniles and an adult were later arrested as suspects, authorities said.
Police have not yet said if they believe the suspects — two teen boys and a man in his 20s — are responsible for any of the robberies prior to Thursday night.
Police said the latest robbery happened about 7:39 p.m. Thursday at the 7-Eleven Store, 3500 Grand Ave.
Several suspects entered the store and one of them simulated a gun before cash was taken from a register, authorities said. The clerk was not injured.
According to initial details, police were able to locate and arrest the suspects later at an undisclosed location a few blocks away. Police have not yet said how they located the suspects or if any of them are related.
The juveniles were taken to Alameda County Juvenile Hall and the adult to Santa Rita Jail where they were booked on various charges.
The store has been targeted by robbers or smash-and-grab burglars more than a half dozen times in the last few months. Besides being robbed three times within 15 hours on June 10 it was also robbed twice in two days in late April.
In November of 2023 a man delivering cigarettes to the store was ambushed by a group of armed suspects who robbed him of a large amount of cigarettes and a gun he was carrying.
No arrests have been reported in the prior robberies. Police have not said why they believe the store has been such a frequent target.
Anyone with information about the robberies may call investigators at 510-238-3326.
