Aurora police call in feds to help with search for missing girl

Aurora police are seeking help from federal agencies in the search for a missing 14-year-old girl, police said Monday.

Erica Long, 14, has been missing since June 15 and was last seen in southeast Aurora. Police have enlisted the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security to help with the search, and have put out a national advisory with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about Erica, who also uses the name Ember.

Erica’s family is offering a $5,000 reward for information that brings her home, according to the police department.

Erica is described as white, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a brown henna tattoo of circles on her left arm.

She was last seen around 8:45 p.m. on June 15 near E-470 and Gartrell Road.
