A lucky winner who bought a £1,000,000 lottery ticket in Wiltshire last December has missed out on their winnings after the 180-day period to claim passed.
The National Lottery announced today that the massive prize from the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw on December 27, 2024, has now passed over to the National Lottery Good Causes.
The deadline for the winner to claim their prize was midnight, June 25, but they did not come forward.
Senior Winners’ Advisor Andy Carter said: ‘I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.
‘However, the money will now go to Good Causes and add to the more than £30M raised each week for National Lottery-funded projects – amazing projects like Alzheimer’s Support, Wilton Riding for the Disabled, Broham Community Hub and Dorothy House Hospice, all of which are in Wiltshire and have helped make the county a better place to live for everyone.’

The unclaimed jackpot had the ticket code of XDQM36414. Digital tickets are more often claimed than paper ones, because they receive repeated reminders to check their account.
But the unclaimed million will go to great causes. Last September, Alzheimer’s Support was given £9,000 for ‘Wiltshire ‘Movement for the Mind’, which offers activities and social support at six venues across the county.
Wilton Riding for the Disabled was awarded £7,500 to resurface their outdoor arena to enable people with disabilities to enjoy riding in a safe and positive way.
Broham Community Hub was awarded £150,000 in August 2024 to help rebuild the community centre after a fire at the former village hall.
Dorothy House Hospice was awarded £20,000 in June 2025 to expand their volunteer companionship services for terminally ill patients and their carers.

All of the unclaimed lottery wins go to the National Lottery Good Causes fund, but each week, more than £30 million from ticket sales goes to the fund as well.
According to the National Lottery website, six big prizes are waiting to be claimed, five of them worth £1 million each and one worth around £107,000. Four are with EuroMillions and two with Lotto.
