Bay Area-based Starbird Chicken continues to grow in Southern California.
Del Amo Plaza in Torrance is the home to Starbird’s fourth restaurant in Los Angeles County. The first opened in Hermosa Beach in 2022, followed by locations in Marina Del Rey and Beverly Grove.
The address is 21101 Hawthorne Blvd. It occupies part of the footprint of a now-demolished Spires Restaurant, which ended its nearly 50-year run there in 2023.
After a soft opening, the Torrance location will celebrate on Friday, June 27, according to a news release. Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. and include a free entree for the first 200 customers and two golden tickets hidden in dine-in orders. They will be worth Starbird for a year, which translates to one meal a week for 52 weeks.
Starbird serves chicken tenders, wings and sandwiches as well as house-made lemonade. Current specials include a “summer of salads” with such items as Avo Cabo Crunch and Creamy Tzatziki Chop.
