ALBANY — A person died early Friday following an overnight crash on an East Bay freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Details of what happened were not available immediately, but the CHP confirmed the death on eastbound Interstate 580 near the Interstate 80 merge at the Buchanan Street exit.
The CHP first received reports of the crash about 3:45 a.m.
Authorities did not identify the victim immediately.
The crash blocked all lanes of eastbound I-80 and created a mess on I-580, as well, according to the CHP.
The CHP did not have any other information immediately.
