Elliot Page revealed his relationship with âOvercompensatingâ actor Julia Shiplett in a cute Instagram post on June 28. The new couple posed for a selfie on a rainbow paved road with Page donning sunglasses and a big smile while leaning over Shipmanâs shoulder.
Page, 38, captioned the photo simply with a rainbow and a double heart emoji. The post was flooded with love from fans and friends, including actor Hannah Pilkes who wrote, âThis makes me so so so happy,â with a crying emoji.
Shiplett also took to social media to make the relationship official, posting a short video of a shirtless Page on her Instagram story. âHappy Prideee,â Shiplett wrote along with the water droplet and exhaling emojis.
Pageâs Past Relationships
Page came out as transgender in 2020, and in 2023 he told his story in the memoir âPageboy.â The actor, whose character on âThe Umbrella Academyâ was also trans, detailed many of his past relationships in the book, including dating actors Kate Mara and Olivia Thrilby. He was married to dancer Emma Portner from 2018 until 2021.
He also told the story of a celebrity who he did not name that he had a secret relationship with, as she had not come out publicly or privately. âWe were together for almost two years, and even some of my closest friends were not aware I was in a relationship,â Page revealed, adding that even the womanâs parents were unaware the two were dating.
In 2023, Page told The Los Angeles Times that heâd begun using dating apps, and was feeling pretty good about just getting to know new people. âItâs the most fun Iâve ever had dating,â he shared. âInteracting with people feels so much easier and more connected, because Iâm not feeling lost in myself â¦â

Shiplett, 38, is a stand-up comic and actor who has appeared in series such as âCrashing,â âHigh Maintenance,â and âAd World.â In 2025 Shiplett had a recurring role in the Prime Video series âOvercompensatingâ as Mimi alongside Benito Skinner and Kaia Gerber.
Her star seems to be on the rise, and she does have one career goal sheâd love to achieve. âI want to be cast in a period piece,â she told Vulture. âI have a joke about this, but Iâm completely serious â¦â
Until she and Page went public with their relationship, Shiplett had kept pretty mum about her love life. She has, however, joked about it quite a bit in many of her stand-up performances.
