Eagles Snubbed in Latest Offensive Rankings for 2025

Rodney Dangerfield’s famous “I don’t get no respect” catchphrase feels like it applies to the Philadelphia Eagles offense when analysts try to rank players like QB Jalen Hurts, who sometimes get overlooked because of his unconventional way of playing the quarterback position.

Well, one recent ranking of the Eagles’ offense is sure to turn fire up some Philly fans ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

Eagles’ Offense Snubbed with Curious 14th Place Ranking

Kyle Soppe of Pro Football & Sports Network acknowledged the Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl in a recent article ranking all 32 offenses in the league entering the 2025 NFL season, but curiously ranked the defending champs outside of the top 10.

Soppe wrote, “After consecutive years finishing inside of the top 10 in our metric, the Philadelphia Eagles took a minor step backwards … and won the Super Bowl. This is a loaded roster that is capable of moving up a handful of spots if they want to, but their style limits their ceiling.”

The Eagles’ offense featured a historic year from RB Saquon Barkley who regularly shredded teams with explosive runs behind one of the best offensive lines in the league.

Barkley finished his first year in Philadelphia with 2,005 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns on 345 carries, which actually could’ve been even higher if not for the decision to rest the Penn State product for the season finale to keep him healthy for the postseason run.

That turned out to the best the correct decision with Barkley going for over 100 rushing yards and a score in the Wild Card, Divisional Round, and NFC Conference Championship Game on their push to the Super Bowl.

Speaking of pushes, Jalen Hurts continues to be a polarizing figure to analyze at the quarterback position.

On one hand, Hurts failed to throw for 3,000 yards for the first time since his rookie year in 2024.

On the flip side, Hurts continues to be a touchdown machine with his fourth straight year with double digit rushing scores.

How Dynamic is this Eagles’ Passing Game?

When your passing game features players like A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert — it does come as a bit of a surprise that the Eagles ranked 30th in the league with just 181.9 passing yards per game.

Soppe added, “The explosive days may not be there as often as fantasy football managers would like, but with an elite floor, it’s hard to imagine this team falling any lower than this in 2025.”

The Eagles proved capable of generating explosive plays in the passing game when it mattered most in the postseason, but the aerial attack definitely felt like a complementary act to the running game in 2025.

Of course, the results of a Super Bowl title are impossible to argue with, but one could use the lack of eye-popping passing numbers as a paper thin way to doubt Hurts or this passing game entering 2025.

Brown is still an explosive and versatile weapon who is in the middle of his prime. Smith is a route running savant who can punish defenses who dare to leave him isolated against corners on the perimeter. Goedert is still a headache for linebackers and safeties to check in man coverage.

This offense is still loaded entering 2025, which makes the offensive ranking of 14th in the NFL feel insulting for the defending champs.
