OAKLAND — A man was stabbed multiple times Monday morning in West Oakland, authorities said.
His condition was not immediately available. Initial reports were that he is in his 30s.
The stabbing happened about 6:35 a.m. Monday in the 1600 block of West Grand Avenue, near Mandela Parkway.
According to initial police reports, the man was stabbed after getting into a confrontation with another man.
After being stabbed, the man was able to make it on his own to a nearby business where police were called. The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to a hospital.
The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived.
A motive for the stabbing is under investigation. Police have not yet said if the victim and suspect knew each other. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
