Oasis kick off their reunion tour on Friday, but fans have already been given a sneak peek into the massive stadium shows.
Britpop brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have set their sibling rivalry to rest and later this week they’ll perform live together for the first time since the band’s split in 2009.
What’s the story? Well, with days to go until the Oasis Live ’25 tour gets underway at Cardiff’s Principality, people have started hearing some very recognisable sounds drifting over the stadium walls.
Wales Online reporter Conor Gogarty captured a video from Fitzhamond Embankment opposite the venue, in which Liam, Noel and the band can be heard blasting out an iconic track.
The group are playing Cigarettes and Alcohol in the video, and Conor quipped: ‘Oasis soundcheck in Cardiff just now. @liamgallagher sounding biblical.’
Fans have gone wild over the video on social media, although there’s been some debate around whether or not it was a live soundtrack or simply a recording to test sound levels until everyone is on site later this week.
Not surprisingly, Liam has chimed in on X, offering a typically tongue in cheek assessment of his own vocals.
‘Mmm I’m not sure about the vocals there too aggressive he really needs to take a chill pill man he’s just so angry all the time,’ he wrote.
‘I don’t know who he thinks he is as far as I’m concerned he’s just a bigmouth from up north. (sic)’

He also claimed the audio heard in the videos wasn’t actually happening in the moment, but rather a ‘live’ recording from rehearsals for the reunion tour – either way, it’s the first we’ve heard of them together in 26 years!
‘I’ve been in my pool 🏊 all day doing under water 💦 farts 💨 so it’s defo a recording from rehearsals unless there’s 2 of me which I’m absolutely 1 million per cent here for well there for as well,’ he said.
When another fan joked that they didn’t realised Liam could swim, he joked: ‘Who said anything about swimming I’m just bobbing about. (sic)’

The Mirror reported on Sunday night that Oasis do actually have rehearsals lined up in the stadium before doors open for the Principality gigs on Friday and Saturday.
‘With a new line up and it being such a huge first show, the boys will do some songs inside the venue too,’ an insider said.
‘Some tours would start with a smaller show or take a week or two to get into the groove again. But there is no time for that and also Liam and Noel want every night to be massive.’
Oasis Live ’25 tour set times
The official Oasis social media accounts have confirmed the set times and curfew for their first comeback show on Friday.

Doors open at 5pm with DJs planned to keep the crowds entertained before 90s Britpop band Cast – featuring The La’s singer John Power – kick things off at 6pm.
They’ll be followed at 7pm by the Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft, who will be the main support act for the evening.
At 8:15pm it’ll be time for Oasis to hit the stage, and it’ll be a lengthy set with a 10:30pm curfew at the venue.
