<p id=”par-1_7″>Michael Madsen <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/celebrity-deaths”>has died</a> at age 67. </p>

<p id=”par-2_45″>The actor was pronounced dead on July 3 after Los Angeles County deputies responded to a 911 call at his home in Malibu, <a href=”https://www.nbclosangeles.com/entertainment/actor-michael-madsen-death-malibu/3738032/”>NBC4 Los Angeles</a> reported. The death appears to be from natural causes, with Madsen’s manager saying that he died from cardiac arrest. </p>

<p id=”par-3_58″>My brother Michael has left the stage,” his sister, Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen, wrote on <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DLqFBQjSbM3/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a>. “He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw … I’ll miss our inside jokes, the sudden laughter, the sound of him. I’ll miss the boy he was before the legend. I miss my big brother.”</p>

Starting in the early ‘80s, he appeared in movies like <em>WarGames </em>and the TV show <em>St. Elsewhere </em>before landing bigger roles in movies like <em>Thelma & Louise </em>(where he played the boyfriend of Susan Sarandon’s character), <em>Free Willy, Wyatt Earp,</em> and <em>The Doors. </em>He played a mobster in the 1997 movie <em>Donnie Brasco </em>and frequently collaborated with Quentin Tarantino, appearing in <em><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/quentin-tarantino-reservoir-dogs-steve-buscemi-shared-hilarious-mr-pink-theory.html/”>Reservoir Dogs</a>, Kill Bill: Volume 2, The Hateful Eight, </em>and <em>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. </em></p>

<p id=”par-5_74″>“In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film including upcoming feature films <em>Resurrection Road</em>, <em>Concessions,</em> and <em>Cookbook for Southern Housewives</em>, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life,” his managers Susan Ferris and Ron Smith, and publicist Liz Rodriguez told NBC34. “Michael was also preparing to release a new book called <em>Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems,</em> currently being edited.</p>
