CCTV footage of Jeffrey Epstein’s last night in prison has finally been released, after the US government vowed to release it to shut down speculation.

The video, hosted on the Department for Justice website, shows the night he died in a Manhattan jail in 2019.

Authorities say the footage shows no one entered the area he was being held, so he could not have been murdered in a bid to silence him speaking out.

They say there is no evidence he had a ‘client list’ of powerful people who were blackmail targets.

A watchdog report in 2023 found that prison guard negligence, misconduct and performance failures led to the financier killing himself in his jail cell.

But conspiracies and speculation continue to swirl, with recent claims from Elon Musk that explosive files are still under wraps but ‘the truth will come out’ only fuelling theories.
