5.: His Parents Allowed Him to Move Away At 14 Years Old
Not many parents would let their 14-year-old son move away to pursue their dreams. Jannik Sinner’s parents, however, are the exception.
Following his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open last year, Sinner opened up during his post-match press conference on how his parents allowed him to leave home at 14:
“I went away from home when I was 14 years old. So I had to grow up quite fast, trying to cook for myself, trying to make laundry. You know, the first time, it’s different, but then in [another] way, that was maybe the fastest way to grow up.
“I think for me [it] was tough, but for [my] parents to leave their son [at] 14 years old, it’s also not easy.”
