The city of Pasadena has asked the public to complete a survey about the Eaton Wash stormwater capture project.
Feedback from the survey will help determine the design of the above ground features of the project. It will create a park space that through previous community feedback is proposed to include a paved pedestrian plaza, demonstration gardens featuring four different plant communities, a community garden, water features, a dog park and a new parking lot and access road.
According to the city, the project will improve water quality for Pasadena and the surrounding region thanks to the project’s upstream drainage area of 10,294 acres and proximity to the Eaton Wash. It is located at a vacant city-owned parcel near Eaton Blanche Park and will provide underground stormwater infiltration and treatment components to improve water quality in the Eaton Wash, the Rio Hondo and Los Angeles rivers.
