Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce turned heads during their appearance at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoeâbut Taylor Swift still managed to steal some of the spotlight. Although she didnât attend the celebrity-filled weekend, Swift was mentioned multiple times during the brothers’ off-season bonding trip.
Taylor Swift Was Top of Mind in Tahoe
At one point during the tournament on Saturday, July 12, a fan shouted to Travis, âYou have the best girlfriend in the world.â Travis, 35, didnât miss a beat. He smiled, turned around, and responded, âGood point,â as captured in social media footage from the event.
Jason, 37, also name-dropped Swift while reflecting on their karaoke performance the night before. The Kelce brothers took the stage and belted out âOld Time Rock and Roll,â and apparently had some behind-the-scenes help from one very famous source.
âTaylor, sheâs given us tips before,â Jason revealed in a pre-tournament interview. âBut Trav has won it five times, so heâs a karaoke expert in his own right. We had some fun with it.â
Jason Kelce Calls Travis His ‘Best Friend on the Planet’
Beyond the shoutouts, Jason opened up about his relationship with Travis during interviews at the event. He credited their âNew Heightsâ podcast with bringing them even closer after launching it in 2022.
âTravis and I have been close for a long time,â Jason said via Starcade Media. âNow with the podcast, we talk to each other more than we ever have. Heâs my best friend on the planet.â
Jason, who recently retired from the NFL, said the podcast helped shift their relationship from older brother/younger brother to true equals. âNow, itâs more like peer to peer⦠Weâre a family that loves each other, we love being around each other.â
He also called Travis âa great uncleâ to his four daughters with wife Kylie Kelce, and emphasized the balance they strike between sharing viral moments and keeping their private life sacred.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Started Dating in the Summer of 2023
Travis and Taylor have been dating since summer 2023, after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed on âNew Heightsâ that he triedâand failedâto give Swift a friendship bracelet at her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City. The missed connection led to a private follow-up from Swift, and the rest is history.
âWe started hanging out right after that,â Swift told TIME in her 2023 Person of the Year profile. âSo, we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which Iâm grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.â
âBy the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game?â the Grammy winner added. âWe would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date. ⦠When you say a relationship is public, that means Iâm going to see him do what he loves, weâre showing up for each other, other people are there and we donât care.â
