Packers QB Jordan Love Earns Praise, but Isn’t Ranked in New Top 10 QB List

Jordan Love was knocking on the door of the top-10 list of NFL quarterbacks compiled by ESPN.com reporter Jeremy Fowler.

Yet, for the second straight year the Green Bay Packers quarterback fell outside the top 10 but into the honorable mention section.

Love finished in the top-12 of NFL quarterbacks after a slight regression in 2024, though part of that was due to his sprained MCL in Green Bay’s Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

The third-year Packers quarterback finished with 3,389 passing yards and 25 touchdowns while throwing 11 interceptions. He missed two games with the knee injury but still helped Green Bay reach the playoffs for the fifth time in the past six seasons.

Why Did Jordan Love Finish Outside The Top-10 of ESPN’s Quarterbacks List?

Packers fans may best remember Love’s three-interception game in the playoffs against the Philadelphia Eagles, and Love did not top even 230 passing yards over his final six games including the 22-10 loss to the Eagles.

Still, the primary reason for Love’s second straight year at honorable mention was the injury — which cost he returned from after just 23 days.

“It looked like it took him time to work through managing that injury,” an NFL personnel evaluator told ESPN.

Love may have also been affected by Christian Watson’s devastating torn ACL, sustained in Green Bay’s regular-season finale against the Chicago Bears.

Much has been made of the Packers’ suspect group of wideouts, especially if Watson’s injury is going to affect him at the start of this year. Still, Green Bay addressed those concerns by picking Matthew Golden in the first round of the NFL Draft.

With Golden, and speedster Mecole Hardman, added on the outside, plus head coach Matt LaFleur sprinkling in bits of genius to Love’s game, few are worried long-term about the Packers quarterback.

“Another full offseason with LaFleur and more receiving options and he’ll be fine,” the NFL personnel evaluator told ESPN.

Who Are The Top-10 Quarterbacks According To ESPN’s List?

That Love didn’t crack the top-10 may seem surprising until you see the names listed ahead of him.

The top four remained the same, headlined by Kansas City Chiefs signal caller Patrick Mahomes. Despite winning his first NFL MVP award in 2024, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills was second.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was third on the list, and Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens was selected fourth.

Reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders was No. 5 and the top-ranked quarterback from the NFC.

Longtime former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers fell out of the top-10 list for the first time since it started being compiled in 2020. Rodgers, now of the Pittsburgh Steelers, was in the “others receiving votes” section.

Here is the full ESPN list of NFL quarterbacks as deemed by coaches, scouts and executives.
