Dana White Reveals Latest Details on Upcoming UFC Event at the White House

Dana White recently shared the latest update on the UFC’s upcoming and unprecedented event at the White House. He outlined preliminary plans for the event and gave fans a glimpse of what to expect.

Speculation has run rampant after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the UFC would host a White House event in 2026. The event is expected for Jul. 4, aligning with America’s 250th Independence Day celebration.

Given its historic significance, White said nearly every fighter has already contacted him, hoping to secure a spot on the card. After UFC Nashville, White confirmed the special White House event will air on pay-per-view and feature a stacked card.

“It’ll be a pay-per-view card,” White said during his post-event press conference. “[It will] be the best card we could possibly put together…We’re just getting into the logistics right now. My team have already walked the White House with the staff there.”

He also confirmed plans to travel to Washington to finalize their vision and format for the event.

“Now, we’re putting together the design. Then, we’ll fly out to D.C. and sit down with [Trump] and see what he wants to do.”

Dana White Says No Fights Have Been Discussed

White also addressed the rumors circulating about potential matchups for the UFC’s White House event. Notable fighters such as Conor McGregor and Jon Jones have already publicly expressed interest in fighting at the monumental event.

However, White emphasized that it’s far too early to discuss the actual matchups or specific UFC fighters competing.

Despite their recent bouts falling through, McGregor and Jones appear to be in the UFC’s good graces. Given the current status of both, White didn’t commit to definitive plans involving them.

“I don’t know [if McGregor and Jones will be on the same card]. In a year, who knows that the world will look like in a year,” White told reporters. “We wouldn’t even start building that [White House] card, it’s still a long time…It’s a year away. It’s not even worth talking about who would be on the card. The entire MMA landscape will be different a year from now.”

Dana White No Stranger to Unique One-Off UFC Events

This isn’t the first time White has spearheaded an ambitious one-of-a-kind UFC event. Last year, he organized the first combat sports event at the Sphere in Las Vegas in celebration of Mexican Independence Day.

At the time, there was anticipation for how the experience the high-tech venue would provide for a live MMA event. White took the gamble and confirmed that production costs exceeded over $20 million.

“We’re at [$20 million] now…This is an expensive show,” White told reporters last August. “And, we have to move in there cause [the Sphere] have other things going on, and when we go in there and rehearse, we’re in there from 1 am until 7 am rehearsing. So, this is a beast.”

Despite the challenges and high production costs associated with the one-of-a-kind event, it paid off in a big way. The UFC won two Sports Emmy Awards for their broadcast at the Sphere, proving the risk was worth the reward.
