Rihanna Confirms Baby No. 3 Name Will Follow ‘Family Tradition’

Rihanna is keeping her growing family close—especially when it comes to baby names. The singer and beauty mogul confirmed that her third child’s name will follow a meaningful pattern shared with A$AP Rocky and their two sons.

Rihanna is officially confirming what fans have long suspected: her third baby will carry on the family’s naming tradition. During the L.A. premiere of “The Smurfs Movie,” the Grammy winner told Extra’s Terri Seymour that baby No. 3 will get a name starting with the letter R—just like the rest of the crew.

“I mean, of course. It’s tradition at this point,” Rihanna said with a smile.

The 36-year-old, who voices Smurfette in the upcoming film, made the event a family night by bringing her two sons, RZA, 3, and Riot, 1, along for the celebration. She told Seymour she was excited to watch the movie with them for the first time, adding, “I can’t wait for that one… to see their reaction when they realize my voice is coming out of the screen.”

When asked how the boys feel about becoming big brothers, Rihanna said, “Oh, they’re delighted.” She played coy on whether she’s expecting a girl this time, replying, “You have to wait and see. Oh, my gosh, are you guys going to be so hurt if it’s a boy?”

Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, also gushed about motherhood. “I’ve always wanted a girl. God knows best, right? And I love my boys.”

A$AP Rocky Says Another ‘R’ Name Is a Sure Thing

Rihanna’s partner A$AP Rocky, 36, echoed the sentiment during a recent interview on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” When asked if baby No. 3 would follow the same naming pattern as RZA and Riot, the rapper didn’t hesitate: “For sure… Yes.”

The couple announced Rihanna’s pregnancy during the 2025 Met Gala, where she rocked a bump-baring ensemble. Later, at his Ray-Ban after-party in NYC, Rihanna flaunted her belly again in a ruffled crop top and satin coat, accessorized with diamonds and a lace headscarf.

The pregnancy confirmation came earlier that night on the blue carpet, when A$AP told “CBS This Morning’s” Nate Burleson when asked to finish a sentence, , “Rihanna’s outfit tonight is…” the rapper answered, “Rihanna’s outfit tonight is… I don’t know, whatever. Just don’t cover her baby hump, you dig?”
