The historic rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears just got spicier this offseason, thanks to some fiery words exchanged through the media. Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker appeared on Good Morning Football and was asked about comments made by Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, confidently declaring he’s “1-0 at Lambeau Field” multiple times this offseason. The comment stems from the Bears’ 24-22 victory over the Packers in Week 18 of last season. It was a huge win for Chicago, snapping a long drought at Lambeau Field and ending Green Bay’s playoff hopes in dramatic fashion.
But when Walker was asked about Williams’ repeated line, he didn’t hold back. The 2022 seventh-round pick replied with, “They got lucky. Make the playoffs…and we’re going to see them again this year and we’re gonna remember he said that.”
A New Chapter in an Old Rivalry
Caleb Williams hasn’t exactly shied away from the spotlight since entering the league. He has been adamant about his feelings towards the Packers, and specifically the fans, after attempting to do the Lambeau Leap during the Week 18 victory.
“I mean, they suck,” Williams said at Fanatics Fest. “After the game, after we won at Lambeau — 1-0 at Lambeau — we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were. [Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it’s a real leap. It’s not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they’re pushing you, pushing your face.”
It’s clear there’s a new level to the rivalry, and with Chicago’s reinforcements this offseason and Ben Johnson coming in as head coach, it won’t be easy for Walker and company to stop Williams from becoming 2-0 in Lambeau Field.
Fuel for Next Season

Going back to Rasheed Walker’s comments, it’s funny he said the Bears “got lucky,” when in reality the Packers were a blocked field goal removed from being swept by the Bears. Who’s actually the lucky team?
Either way, both teams will be circling Weeks 14 and 16 on their calendars, as the Bears travel to Lambeau Field in Week 14 and host the Packers at Soldier Field in Week 16.
These comments by Walker highlight how one moment can fuel an entire season’s worth of motivation. For Walker, who has quietly emerged as a dependable presence on the Packers’ offensive line, the memory of that loss and Williams’ comments still stings.
For the Bears, ending last season with a win against the Packers will undoubtedly carry over to the start of 2025.
The NFC North is heating up, and Packers vs. Bears is becoming a real rivalry once again.
