Henry Cavill Gives Rare Look at His Private Life

Henry Cavill is embracing a brand new role—girl dad! He may be the “Man of Steel”, but it turns out his real superpower is being a softie girl dad. The star, 42, revealed in a recent interview with British GQ that the baby he and his longtime girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso, welcomed earlier this year is a daughter.

When asked what he considers the most important time in his life so far, Cavill responded, “My daughter being born, and the five of us (indicating: partner Natalie, daughter, Cavill, and their two dogs) settling into our forever home.”

In the same interview, Cavill offered a rare peek into his life away from the spotlight. In response to how he carves out time for himself, Cavill explained his love for gaming and nature.

“I’m a big fan of computer games which can be both a disconnect and a wonderful way to dive into storytelling,” he said, before adding that he also values time in nature. “Where I live has a magic to it that is difficult to describe.”

He noted that he feels most grounded “at home in the U.K.,” and described the special connection he has to his current surroundings: “I’ve found a very special place that speaks to my soul in so many ways.”

Cavill & Viscuso Quietly Became Parents in 2024

The couple’s journey into parenthood began quietly earlier this year. In January 2024, People confirmed that Cavill and Viscuso had welcomed their first child together, though details such as the baby’s name, sex, and birthdate were kept private at the time.

In April, Cavill shared the exciting news himself at the New York City premiere of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, telling Access Hollywood that he and Viscuso were “both very excited about it.”

Celebrating Father’s Day With Humor & Heart

Cavill’s first Father’s Day as a dad-to-be came that June, and he celebrated it with a bit of signature humor. Posting a selfie in front of a nursery, he wrote on Instagram: “And don’t worry, pillows won’t be in the crib when the wee one arrives, just glue and scalpels so he or she can build Warhammer miniatures.”

Cavill and Viscuso have been dating since 2021 and made their red carpet debut at the premiere of “Enola Holmes 2” in October 2022. A few months later, the couple announced they would be adapting the Warhammer 40,000 game together for Amazon.

Calling the project “a blessing beyond words,” Cavill credited Viscuso for helping them “find the perfect home at Amazon.”

The pair most recently stepped out together at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy on June 11, marking one of their first public appearances since welcoming their baby girl.
