The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a “new” old look during the 2025 NFL season. The Steelers released that look to begin this week.
The team unveiled their new throwback uniform with an announcement on the organization’s official X account at 10 am ET Monday.
The uniform is “a version” of what the organization wore in 1933, which was the franchise’s inaugural season.
The Steelers stated in a news release on the team website that the new throwback is designed to “pay tribute” not only to the 1933 team but also to the City of Pittsburgh and the team’s entire legacy.
The Steelers will debut the uniforms on the field at home against the Green Bay Packers during Sunday Night Football on Oct. 26.
“We’re excited to unveil our new throwback uniforms which not only pay tribute to the origins of the Steelers franchise but also to the deep connection we have to our hometown of Pittsburgh,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II. “It’s especially fitting that we’ll debut these uniforms on Sunday night, October 26 when we play the Green Bay Packers – another franchise in the league with a long and rich history.”
