Paula Badosa Gets New US Open Mixed Doubles Partner Following Tsitsipas Split

After their unceremonious exits from Wimbledon 2025, Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted posts showcasing their relationship.

Now, ahead of the US Open, Badosa appears to have found a new partner for the tournament’s all-new Mixed Doubles event.

On Tuesday, the US Open Tennis account on Twitter shared a photo of the updated Mixed Doubles entry list, with eight direct entries and six wild cards.

The eight direct entry teams are as follows:

  1. Emma Navarro/Jannik Sinner
  2. Paula Badosa/Jack Draper
  3. Iga Swiatek/Casper Rudd
  4. Elena Rybakina/Taylor Fritz
  5. Amanda Anisimova/Holger Rune
  6. Belinda Bencic/Alexander Zverev
  7. Jessica Pegula/Tommy Paul
  8. Mirra Andreeva/Daniil Medvedev

The six announced wild card entry teams are as follows:

  1. Madison Keys/Frances Tiafoe
  2. Olga Danilovic/Novak Djokovic
  3. Emma Raducanu/Carlos Alcaraz
  4. Taylor Townsend/Ben Shelton
  5. Venus Williams/Reilly Opelka
  6. Sara Errani/Andrea Vavassori

As the US Open’s account indicated, the remaining two wild-card teams will be announced before the start of the tournament.

So far, there’s been no word yet on whether Tsitsipas will look for a new partner. If he does, the logical choice would be fellow Hellenic star Maria Sakkari, with whom he’s played mixed doubles in the past.

This Isn’t The First Time Tsitsipas and Badosa Have Split

Following their respective losses at Wimbledon this year, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa unfollowed one another on Instagram, and purged their accounts of photos showcasing their relationship.

While the split appears to be for good this time, this isn’t the first time that the two have broken up.

Last May, as Badosa looked to return to form while battling injuries, and Tsitsipas looked to put a halt to his free fall down the ATP rankings, the two announced their split via Instagram, as seen below:

Just a few short weeks later, however, the two were back together, leading some fans to question whether their post-Wimbledon break-up this year is in fact the end.

Paula Badosa Appears to Take Online Jab at Stefanos Tsitsipas and His Father

In the first round of Wimbledon, Stefanos Tsitsipas retired from his match against Valentin Royer due to a back injury.

Shortly after, Goran Ivanisevic, who at the time was serving as Tsitsipas’ coach, took aim at the former top-10 player, stating that at 53-years-old, he’s in better shape than the Greek standout.

Following the Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz Wimbledon final, which was attended by both player’s parents, Roger Federer’s former coach Ivan Ljubicic took to social media with a not-so-subtle message fans seemed to believe was in reference to Tsitsipas and his father, Apostolos.

Ten days after his post, Tsitsipas spoke with Greek outlet SDNA about his decision to start training under his father again, revealing that he apologized to his dad for previous comments he made after his 2024 loss at the Canadian Open.

That same day, Paula Badosa, seemingly out of the blue, replied, to Ljubicic’s post on social media.

With Ivanisevic going on record as saying that he believes only Apostolos can coach Stefanos, as evidenced by the 26-year-old reaching a career high of No. 3 in the world, it’ll be interesting to see how this next chapter of Stefanos’ career plays out.
