<p id=”par-1_66″>Jax Taylor had a bar under his name in Los Angeles, but both he and Brittany Cartwright said she invested just as much into it as he did. While Cartwright said she dedicated her time and money to Jax’s Studio City, she didn’t see any money from it. The <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/reality-tv/?swcfpc=1″>reality</a> star opened up about her frustrating experience with the bar she shared with her <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/celebrity-relationships/?swcfpc=1″>estranged husband</a>.</p>

<p id=”par-2_55″>In 2023, Taylor and Cartwright teamed up with Rocco’s Tavern in LA to open Jax’s Studio City. The bones of the bar already existed, but Taylor and Cartwright gave input on the decor and name. While the name only references Taylor, Cartwright said she was just as much a part of it as he was.</p>
<p id=”par-3_63″>“[Jax] said [owning a bar is hard on relationships] many times, and it has freaked me out ever since this project came to be a possibility for us,” she said on the podcast <em>When Reality Hits</em>. “It is called Jax’s, but it is mine too. And you are not going to be there 24/7. It is going to be kid-friendly during the day.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_23″>Taylor also noted that the bar was just as much Cartwright’s as his. Despite this, she said she never got any money back.</p>
<p id=”par-5_46″>“I paid the mural artist. I paid for the neon signs. I paid for a lot of the decorations in there. I paid for every single plant. The succulent wall. Every vase. Everything,” she said, per <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/brittany-cartwright-details-involvement-with-jaxs-studio-city-exclusive” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Bravo</a>. “And I never got paid back for it, ever.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_34″>She said she “never got a dime back,” even for a menu item made from a family recipe for beer cheese. She said she “never got a cent off of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/can-vanderpump-rules-fans-buy-brittany-cartwrights-beer-cheese.html/”>Mamaw’s Beer Cheese</a> there.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_18″>“I own Mamaw’s Beer Cheese,” she said. “I have it trademarked, that I pay for, and everything else.”</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-he-recently-cut-ties-with-his-bar”>He recently cut ties with his bar</h2>
<p id=”par-8_28″>It doesn’t seem likely that Cartwright will ever see a financial windfall from the bar. Taylor, her now-estranged husband, recently announced that he was cutting ties with it.</p>
<p id=”par-9_58″>“I’ve made the decision to end my partnership with Jax’s,” he wrote. “It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one. Right now, my <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/tom-schwartz-jax-taylor-severe-dependency-cocaine.html/”>focus is on my sobriety</a> and mental health, and staying connected to my bar is no longer in line with the priorities I’ve set for myself and the life I’m working towards.”</p>

Since then, their relationship has completely deteriorated.
