Brooke Hogan is making her way back into music. The singer and television personality has re-signed with SoBe Entertainment, the label that once supported her early 2000s pop career. Sources close to Brooke told TMZ the decision came after the sudden death of her father, Hulk Hogan, on July 24.
The tragic moment prompted Brooke to reconnect with ex-boyfriend Yannique Barker, a record producer and the son of SoBe Entertainment founder Cecile D. Barker. Yannique, known by his rap name Stack$, previously produced Brookeâs 2009 album âThe Redemptionâ and collaborated with her on the single âFalling.â
Album Nearly Finished, Release Expected Later This Year
Brooke has already recorded most of the new album and is currently working with Yannique to finalize it. TMZ report claims that the project, insiders say, is on track for release later this year.
Her last studio album was released in 2009, but her fanbase has remained active, particularly following a viral TikTok resurgence of her 2006 hit single âAbout Us.â
A Complicated Father-Daughter Bond
After her fatherâs death from a heart attack at his Florida home, Brooke shared a deeply personal Instagram tribute on July 29.
âWe never had a âbig fight.â My father and I never âfought,ââ she wrote. âIt was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand. My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business.â
She revealed that she had encouraged the wrestling icon to take better care of himself after supporting him through nearly 25 surgeries.
âIt was like there was a force field around him that I couldn’t get through,â she wrote. âHe was telling me these things, being so vulnerable with me and heard my pleas, then suddenly something shifted, and he made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit.â
Brooke also cited her high-risk pregnancy and emotional exhaustion as reasons she âstepped awayâ from their relationship. She and husband Steven Oleksy recently welcomed twins, Oliver and Molly, now 6 months old.
Removed From Hulkâs Will By Choice
Despite their bond, Brooke requested to be removed from her fatherâs will. According to sources, she feared legal complications and didnât trust certain people in Hulkâs inner circle.
While she avoided estate drama, her focus now is on honoring her fatherâs memory, not through litigation, but by reclaiming her passion for music.
