The Chicago Bears are knee-deep in training camp, and it’s that sweet spot in the preseason right before the action begins. The Bears had their first official day of training camp on July 23, and it marked the first chance for new head coach Ben Johnson to work with his players, such as quarterback Caleb Williams, and get them into shape for what Chicago hopes is a comeback year, finally.
Johnson is an offensive-minded coach, and he’s one of the best in the league. There are big expectations on his shoulders. But, the good news is that the Bears look to be in a good spot for not just this season but the future of the franchise.
One of the key pieces of any team is how many young players they have in the squad. The younger the team, the better that team is suited for the future. With that in mind, here are three Bears players under 25 who are the future of the franchise.

Bears’ Best Players Under 25
Caleb Williams
One of these players is 23-year-old Williams. Sure, he had a shaky start to his NFL career, but now, he has an entirely new coaching staff and the excuses have run out, so it’s showtime. Chicago selected him as their No. 1 draft pick, and the expectations for him are still high. With Johnson, he’ll likely deliver in 2025.
Rome Odunze
No. 2 on our tally is 23-year-old wide receiver Rome Odunze, who had a stellar season last year, catching 54 passes for 734 yards last season. It will be great to see what Johnson does with this guy.
Colston Loveland
We had to get a rookie in the mix. Loveland is 21 years old and ready to rock. The Bears selection the tight end in the first round, and he could become the next Travis Kelce over the next few years.
The NFC North is strong this year, as it has been for a while now, but the youth on the Bears’ squad will help.
ESPN Recognizes Chicago
Aaron Schatz of ESPN has a new feature out, published on July 29, naming the best teams in the NFL with players under the age of 25. No, the Bears aren’t No. 1. That honor goes to the Texans.
“For the third straight year, the Houston Texans are No. 1 on this list of teams with the most under-25 talent, which is what happens when they trade up to get the top two picks in the draft and take two players who are very young,” he notes in the feature.
He adds that “NFL teams don’t need young talent to be serious contenders, but having it helps indicate their potential for long-term success. Blue-chip players are cornerstone assets from whom teams will likely derive their biggest future value.”
He has the Bears at No. 5 on the tally, which is a great spot. “Teams with young quarterbacks will all appear high on this list, but so will teams that just used a bunch of draft picks. After using the No. 1 pick on 23-year-old Caleb Williams last year, Chicago took four players in the first two rounds this past April.” We’ll take it.
