The Associated Press announced on the evening of Sunday, August 3, 2025 that drama actress Loni Anderson passed away earlier that day. She was 79. AP says they learned from the star’s publicist that she died in a Los Angeles hospital after an illness they called “prolonged.”
The outlet also quoted a statement put out by Anderson’s family which reads, “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother.”
Anderson was best known for her role as Jennifer Marlowe in “WKRP in Cincinnati,” which ABC says aired from 1978 to 1982.
Loni Anderson’s cause of death is unknown at this point.
How Many Times Was Loni Anderson Married?
Anderson was married a total of four times, according to People. Her most high-profile relationship was with Burt Reynolds, whom she married in 1988. The outlet says the pair met five years prior on the set of “Stroker Ace,” where they fell in love.
The outlet, which says they covered the Florida wedding, quotes Anderson of saying about her groom, “I feel like Cinderella. I married Prince Charming.” As you know, the relationship soured and the pair was divorced by 1994. The magazine says the “Without Warning” star told them in 2015 that marrying Reynolds was “a really dumb move.”
Reynolds, who died at 82 in 2018, was Anderson’s third husband. Her first wedding was to Bruce Hasselberg, who is a real estate developer according to Property Costa Rica. The pair divorced two years after their 1964 nuptials.
Beginning in 1974, Anderson had a 7-year marriage to “Airport ’77” star Ross Bickell. In 2008, the actress married Bob Flick, with whom she remained until his death at 84.
