Yungblud and Osbourne were incredibly close, and Osbourne even appeared in his video for the track, “The Funeral.” Osbourne gifted Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, his iconic cross necklace in 2022. Their close friendship in Osbourne’s final years was something fans loved to see, and Yungblud paid his final respects to the rock legend on Thursday, July 31, when he posted a photo on Instagram of the cross that he holds so dear.

“Goodnight oz your light will forever shine. I love you,” he captioned the photo of himself holding the cross in his hands.

Fans reacted to the simple but heartfelt message with an outpouring of love, but also praise for Yungblud’s talents as a musician. “He passed the torch of darkness to you, Dom! Carry it with you and lead the way,” a comment reads. “He passed the torch to you Dom,” another shared.

Following the family’s statement on Instagram on July 22 about Osbourne’s death, tributes began pouring in. Yungblud was one of the first to react, and he penned a heartbreaking message on Instagram.

The musician shared a photo of himself kneeling next to Osbourne, who is in a wheelchair. In the caption, he shared his thoughts. “I didn’t think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room. But as it is written with legends, they seem to know the things that we don’t,” he wrote.

Yungblud continued, “I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough. You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all. I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.”
