The Milwaukee Brewers are absolutely rolling, as they currently hold the best record in baseball and have extended a four-game lead in the National League Central over the Chicago Cubs, which seems like it was just a back-and-forth battle. However, the Brew Crew are winners of their last five games, and took two of three from the Cubs just last week.
Nobody could have predicted that the Brewers would have the best record in baseball by early August, before the season began. With multiple rookies in the lineup each night, a rotation that looked nothing like it does now at the beginning of the season, and a team that doesn’t hit a ton of homers, it’s remarkable what they’ve been able to do, and the numbers show how impressive they’ve been.
Brewers Achieve Franchise-Best Record Over Last 60 Games
With a manager like Pat Murphy, who is a true fan of the sport and dedicated to developing young players, the Milwaukee Brewers differ from some of the other massive MLB organizations in terms of spending, staying well under the luxury tax, and making significant free-agent or trade acquisitions. Following their 7-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night, this 2025 Brewers club etched itself into franchise history.
Since May 25, the Brewers are 44-16, which is the best 60-game stretch in franchise history. They are also 11-1 in their last 12 games, and are 23-6 over their last 29 road games. So while it does make sense how they’ve been able to separate themselves in the NL Central, their ability throughout this Summer of consistent winning has caught people off guard. Almost every MLB team has had its bad stretches over the past three months, but not the Brewers. Their rotation is easily the best in baseball, with five legitimate options to turn to. Despite rookie phenom Jacob Misiorowski and youngster Jackson Chourio on the Injured List, Milwaukee continues to win.
Milwaukee will go for the sweep of the Braves on Wednesday night and keep its winning ways going.
Milwaukee Determined for October Success
The Milwaukee Brewers have won the NL Central in four of the last five seasons and are going for their third consecutive division crown. Milwaukee was in the playoffs last season, but was upset by the New York Mets in the Wild Card round. They are now aiming for the league’s overall top seed to avoid that Wild Card round and earn a first-round bye. Despite being in the playoffs four of the last five seasons, the Brewers haven’t made the NLCS since 2018.
As for the injuries, Chourio is dealing with a hamstring injury and is expected to return, or at least be further re-evaluated in 2-4 weeks, but Milwaukee would like for him to be at full health for their October run. As for Misiorowski, he threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, but the timeline for his return is unclear at this point. It’s likely a similar situation to Chourio’s, where the team wants him to be fresh for the playoffs and Milwaukee to be at their best.
