Patrick Mahomes’ Wife Brittany Reacts to Incredible $22,000 News

While Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes attends training camp at Missouri Western State University, he received a visit from his biggest fans.

Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, brought the couple’s two eldest kids, Sterling, 4, and Bronze, 2, to practice during “Family Fun Day.” The three-time Super Bowl MVP and Brittany welcomed their third baby, a daughter named Golden, in January.

While Mahomes credits his family for inspiring him to be a better person and player, they directly influenced his decision for the 2024 My Cleats My Cause, in which players wear custom cleats for an initiative dear to their heart. Through his 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, the 29-year-old quarterback teamed up with FARE, Food Allergy Research & Education.

Sterling and Bronze both have food allergies, which initially came as a surprise for the famous couple since they don’t have any themselves.

During Kansas City’s Week 13 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Mahomes wore his custom “15 and FARE” cleats. “It’s critical that every family has what they need. Food allergy reactions can happen anytime, anywhere,” Mahomes said in a statement.

Brittany added, “It’s not just about avoiding certain foods, it’s a life-threatening disease that requires constant attention.”

After the Chiefs defeated the Raiders 19-17, the cleats went up for auction. The bidding ended on February 11, according to the latest update on NFL Auction. After 69 bids, the winner took home the cleats for $22,050.

The website states, “100% of My Cause My Cleats sales from NFL Auction go to the NFL Foundation and are then allocated to players’ designated charities.”

Instead of keeping the “15 and FARE” cleats, LK Snacks, which made the winning bid, donated each shoe to a local hospital in Kansas City to help further spread awareness. Brittany liked the announcement and reposted the incredible news on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, August 6.

The post read, “This week, FARE CEO Dr. Sung Poblete, PhD, RN, presented Patrick Mahomes’ game-worn 15 and FARE cleats to two leading institutions in allergy care, Children’s Mercy and The University of Kansas Health System, during a back to school event focused on community collaboration.

“Thanks to LK Snacks, who purchased and donated the cleats, each hospital received one as a symbol of shared commitment to children and families managing food allergies. These health systems are vital partners in bringing the FARE Neighborhoods initiative to Kansas City, expanding access to education, equitable care, and safer dining experiences for all.”

Lorissa’s Kitchen, founder of LK Snacks, commented, “Glad we got to be a part of this initiative!🙌❤️💛 And a huge thank you to both institutions for their continued dedication to the allergy community.”

The Kansas City Current co-owners discovered Sterling’s food allergies as soon as they switched to formula for the first time. “She was vomiting; she was sneezing; she had red, itchy eyes, Brittany recalled to Parents. While it wasn’t a severe reaction, they learned Sterling is allergic to milk, eggs, and dairy after visits with their pediatrician and allergist.

With Bronze, Brittany added peanut powder to his bottle, and he soon became fussy and inconsolable. Brittany figured he was simply tired and started to prepare for bedtime.

“I took his diaper off and I then realized he had broken out into hives everywhere under his diaper and his clothes,” she said. “Within minutes, it began to grow and grow, and eventually covered his whole body and got up to his face.”

Due to Sterling’s allergies, she was already prepared with an AUVI-q, an FDA-approved epinephrine auto-injector for infants and toddlers, just in case. The mother of three has since partnered with brand. “Knowing that I did have that with me, I felt a little more competent in the situation, but we did end up going to the emergency room.

While it was a scary situation, “They ultimately told us, ‘He’s going to be fine, but you need to wait here for a few hours just to make sure everything’s OK.’”
