The world lost legendary actor and comedian Robin Williams on August 11, 2014. Since then, there has been a massive void both in the entertainment industry and in the lives of those who knew him. Crystal took to his official Instagram account on August 11 to post a photo of himself with Williams. It appears to be from their 1997 film, “Father’s Day.” He posted a text overlay on the picture that read simply, “Miss you, my friend.” Currently, the tribute to Williams has more than 3,500 likes.Â
Many fans have commented on the photo of the two actors. One person said, “He will always be remembered with admiration and respect.” Someone else commented, “We miss him too, but nothing compared to your friendship. My condolences!”
Another fan replied, “Two absolute legends. Robin is still here with us. His laughter and joy remain.” Another person said, “Thinking of you, Billy and Robinâs family. Love and my warmest wishes to all.” Finally, a different commenter stated, “The World is a sadder place without him.”
The World Is Remembering Williams on the Anniversary of His Passing
In the years since Williams’ passing, many fans have remarked that the world seems sadder and less funny without him. This is a testament to the lasting legacy he left behind. As a result, in addition to Crystal’s tribute, many fans have taken to social media to remember the beloved actor and what he offered the world.Â
The All On The Board account on X posted about him, saying, “It’s been 11 years since the world lost Robin Williams. He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
Thank you, Robin, for the joy and laughter you gave the world and the legacy you left behind. Sending love to your family, friends, and fans today.”
Someone else remembered his last on-screen role, writing, “Robin Williams passed away 11 years ago today. This was his last moment captured on film.”
The Film at Lincoln Center account posted, “Remembering the late, great Robin Williams, who passed away 11 years ago today on August 11th, 2014. Here at @LincolnCenter, we were honored to host Robin Williams in 1988 for an Off-Broadway production of WAITING FOR GODOT with Steve Martin and, in August of 1986, at @MetOpera for his legendary standup performance A NIGHT AT THE MET.”
He Will Be Remembered Forever
Williams left behind a wealth of films and comedy specials for fans to remember him by. However, according to ABC 7 News, there is a sign erected in his honor in San Fransico. It’s the Robin Williams Meadow sign, and it’s located in Golden Gate Park. Notably, they unveiled it in 2018 on the eve of the 38th Annual Comedy Day in the Park.Â
