Rock 2 Freedom, a hard-rocking fundraiser put on by In-N-Out Burger’s president and owner Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson, will take place Saturday, Oct. 18 in the heart of Hollywood.
Papa Roach will be the headliner, but the concert will also feature .48 Special, the burger chain’s “family band” made up of executives and staff members, including Snyder-Ellingson and her husband Sean Ellingson. The group puts on a flashy show, usually with Cirque du Soleil-style aerial stunts and pyrotechnics.
Last October’s concert at the House of Blues Anaheim featured Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson and her colleagues doing a fire-eating routine while surprise guest artist Robby Krieger of the Doors joined in for a performance of “Light My Fire.”
Rounding out the bill is Sitting on Saturn, formerly Sitting on Stacy, which won an In-N-Out Burger Battle of the Bands, held in 2023 as part of the chain’s 75th anniversary festival.
Tickets are $75 and include a Double-Double from In-N-Out cookout trucks catering the event. There are also special experiences that range all the way up to $8,500 with perks such as mocktail bars, VIP gifts and cards for many more Double-Doubles.
The venue will be the Hollywood Palladium, once the home of “The Lawrence Welk Show,” at 6215 Sunset Blvd.
The Hollywood Palladium is usually a standing-room-only venue with a capacity for 4,000 people. That’s more than the House of Blues, where Rock 2 Freedom has taken place in recent years.
Rock 2 Freedom, supports Slave 2 Nothing, an organization that combats substance abuse and human trafficking through grants to on-the-ground organizations in states where In-N-Out does business.
October is National Substance Use Prevention Month, so that’s when Slave 2 Nothing puts on its shows. It typically puts on a car show in January, which is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
This fall, there’s a third fundraiser, In-N-Out Burger’s Tough Mudder Challenge, taking place Sept 5-7 at Big Bear Lake. In-N-Out’s website is offering 20% off registration with the code BIGBEAR20.
