Man dies of apparent electrocution on Blue Line in Austin

A man was killed on the Blue Line tracks after coming in contact with the electrified third rail Thursday morning in Austin.

He was found unresponsive on the tracks about 3:45 a.m. in the 700 block of South Central Avenue, near the Cicero station, Chicago police said.

The unidentified victim was dead on the scene; detectives are conducting a death investigation.

Blue Line service was temporarily suspended between Pulaski and Forest Park, but normal service resumed at 5:45 a.m., the CTA said.
