Kevin Spacey, 66, was spotted by photographer Elder Ordonez in a rare public sighting in New York City on August 15. The New Jersey native was seen standing on the steps of The Plaza dresses in a sharp beige suit with a pink tie. He also rocked a pair of glasses.
At one point in the video, Spacey appeared to spot the photographer, at which point her waved before throwing a peace sign.

Deadline says “The Negotiator” star joined the cast of upcoming thriller, “The Awakening,” in May 2025. The outlet says the role represents “a step forward” for Spacey’s Hollywood comeback effort.
The cast also includes “Fargo” actor Peter Stormare and Alice Eve of “Star Trek: Into Darkness,” per the report. The film, currently in post-production, was directed by Matt Routledge.
Director of “The Awakening” Revealed What It Was Like Working with Kevin Spacey
“The Awakening” director Matt Routledge talked about the project in a July podcast appearance on “The Martin Talk Show.” He said about the film, which he called “a journey,” has been in the works since 2020 when producer and lead actor Justin Tinto contacted him with some ideas for a script.
Routledge said he and Tinto spent the COVID-19 lockdown collaborating on the script, and revealed the final product contains “a few controversial storylines.” He and his friend spent around four years writing together before he says they “suddenly got the funding and went into production.”
He called himself “fortunate” to have gotten the chance to film with Pinewood Studios, and said it was “a great honor,” citing how the studio previously had a James Bond stage. “They even built a whole Gotham City for the 1989 Tim Burton Batman film,” he recalled.
The director then opened up about his onset experience with Spacey. He started with, “We got Kevin Spacey, he was great to work with. Very professional. You know, typical for someone who is absolutely at the top of his game.”
Routledge reminded viewers Spacey is a two-time Oscar winner before saying, “He just comes straight in. I think he nailed it within two takes, his scene in the film. For me obviously as a director, it’s just a great honor to work with this type of actor.”
“The Awakening” is not Spacey’s only upcoming project. Variety says he recently directed “Holiguards,” an indie dystopian thriller which was played at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
