Former Eagles 1st-Round WR Jalen Reagor Receives Grim Outlook With Chargers

Wide receiver Jalen Reagor didn’t pan out in two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He wasn’t able to carve out a role with the Minnesota Vikings or New England Patriots either.

This preseason, Reagor might experience a disappointing end to his Chargers tenure next.

Bleacher Report Gary Davenport included the former first-round pick on his list of “one player each NFL team should cut” prior to the 2025 regular season.

“Five years into his NFL career, Jalen Reagor’s biggest claim to fame is that he was quite possibly the dumbest pick Howie Roseman has made, going 21st overall to the Philadelphia Eagles just before the Minnesota Vikings drafted Justin Jefferson,” wrote Davenport.

“Now, Reagor likely finds himself on the wrong side of final cuts in Los Angeles, despite drawing positive reviews in training camp. The reason? The return of Keenan Allen to the Chargers.”

The Chargers signed Keenan Allen to a one-year, $8.52 million contract on August 5. Los Angeles added Allen after fellow veteran receiver Mike Williams surprisingly retired during July. But bringing back Allen could still be a sign the Chargers don’t expect a lot from Reagor.

The Eagles selected Reagor at No. 21 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. He posted 65 catches, 695 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 28 games for the Eagles.

Philadelphia traded Reagor to the Vikings prior to the NFL roster cutdown day in 2022. The Eagles received a 2023 seventh-rounder and conditional 2024 fourth-round pick in the exchange.
